Checking the Power Supply for the Router:

  1. Locate the Power Adapter:

    • Find the power adapter that is connected to your router. It's usually a small black or white box with a cable attached.
  2. Check Power Outlet:

    • Ensure that the power outlet the router is connected to is working. You can test this by plugging in another device, like a lamp or phone charger, into the same outlet.
  3. Inspect the Cable:

    • Examine the power cable for any visible damage. Look for frayed wires, bent prongs, or other signs of wear and tear.
  4. Verify Power Indicator:

    • Check if there is a power indicator light on the router. If the router is receiving power, this light should be illuminated.
  5. Try a Different Outlet:

    • If the power indicator is off, try plugging the router into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the current outlet.
  6. Swap the Power Adapter:

    • If possible, use another power adapter with the same specifications (voltage, current, polarity) to see if the issue is with the original power adapter.

Checking the Power Supply for the Media Converter:

  1. Locate the Power Source:

    • Find the power source for your media converter. Similar to the router, it should have a power adapter and a cable.
  2. Check Power Outlet:

    • Verify that the power outlet the media converter is connected to is functional. Test it with another device to ensure it's working correctly.
  3. Inspect the Cable:

    • Examine the power cable for any visible damage. Look for frayed wires, bent prongs, or other signs of wear and tear.
  4. Power Indicator on the Media Converter:

    • Check if there is a power indicator light on the media converter. A lit indicator indicates that the device is receiving power.
  5. Try a Different Outlet:

    • If the power indicator is not lit, try plugging the media converter into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the current outlet.
  6. Swap the Power Adapter:

    • If possible, use another power adapter with the same specifications (voltage, current, polarity) to see if the issue is with the original power adapter.

If after going through these steps the issue persists, it may be a good idea to log a ticket for further assistance.
